Artist Statement

I am not a medium-specific artist. The subject dictates the form of my work. I submerge myself in that subject in a way that results in performance. The performance can be public or private. Once I have experienced the work with my body, it becomes evident to me what artifacts, relics, and souvenirs are needed to communicate the subject effectively to others and what medium they should take: paintings, drawings, photos, video, sculptures, and objects, made or found, and always a book. At the exhibition, a final performance engages the audience in the making.
